Giancarlo Montanari Appointed General Manager of Rough Terrain Cranes at Terex
Terex cranes has appointed Giancarlo Montanari as general manager of Rough Terrain Cranes.
In his new role he reports to Kieran Hegarty, president of Terex Material Processing division, of which the Italian crane business is now part. In his new role he will be responsible for all functions and aspects of the RT business. He takes over from Marco Gentilini, who will now focus his energies on the tower crane business. Montanari joined the company in October from Argo Tractors, where he was European sales manager.
He began his career with Argo – which sells the tractors its manufacturers under the brands of Landini, McCormick and Valpadana – as an assembly line worker in early 2000 and was soon promoted to quality control supervisor. In 2003 he was appointed as service product manager, becoming a regional service manager in 2007. In 2012 he was promoted again to an Export area manager for most of eastern Europe and parts of North Africa. He took on the role of export sales manager in 2016.
Montanari said: “I am honoured to have this opportunity, I really believe in our products and organisation. This market is a competitive one, but we believe we are shaping our future to be an important brand for years to come. The premium materials, modern technology and unique optimisation of our cranes make us stand out from the crowd. This added to the uniqueness of the brands, and their target driven focus on being best in class is what makes us the first choice.”
